Admittance level switch is a capacitive level switch that is resistant to adhesion of measured objects.

Can be used for liquids, powders, and slurries.

Advantages

  1. Not only liquids and granular materials, but also highly viscous objects such as slurries can be detected without malfunction.
  2. One type of substrate supports from low sensitivity to high sensitivity. There is no need to replace the board according to the difference in the capacitance of the measurement object. It is OK to prepare a spare board with the minimum necessary.

Features of Admittance Level Switch

The main features of Admittance level switches are as follows.

Insensitive to adhesion

Since the detection electrode at the tip of the probe captures changes in the capacitance of the measured object, it is not affected by the measured object adhering to the base of the tank or sensor.

Guard electrode structure

Generally, the detection sensitivity changes depending on the length of the probe, but the guard electrode cuts this change. Therefore, only one type of board covers all models. There is no need to prepare multiple spare boards .

Operating principle

The relational expression between admittance (Y) and general capacitance (C) is as follows.

When the capacitive property of the object to be measured is C,
  Yc=jw C
   Yc: Capacitive admittance
   j: Imaginary number
   w: AC angular frequency
   C: Capacitance (capacitive property of the object to be measured)
As C increases, so does Yc.

Admittance level switch detect the storage level based on the electrical properties of this capacitor.

How to use?

1.Determine
mounting position

Installation reference diagram

Mounts to ceiling or tank sidewall. Avoid installing near sources of intense vibration such as knockers, which may cause malfunction or false detection . If you have any concerns about the mounting position, please contact us.

2. Mounting

Avoid direct contact with the electrode while it is being charged, as this may cause damage. It is effective to attach a protection plate. Also, when installing on the lower side wall, tilting the probe by 20° or more can reduce the load on the probe.
 

3. Wiring

Be sure to ground first .

The power supply is a free power supply and supports AC/DC22~264V 50/60Hz. The output signal is SPDT and the contact capacity is AC250V, 5A/DC30V, 5A.

4. Adjustment

There are 4 levels of sensitivity adjustment. Further fine tuning is possible.

Next, set the detection operation selector switch to set the contact output operation for the upper limit or lower limit and the lamp display.
