FAQ
-Emergency Stop Switch-

Emergency Stop Switch General

Can you use an emergency stop switch and wire rope to surround mechanical equipment and use it as a safety switch?
Available.
However, when surrounding the equipment with wire rope, bends and resistance occurs. It is necessary to reduce the resistance as much as possible so that the switch will work when the wire rope is pulled in an emergency. For example, if you use eyebolts in corners, the resistance will be high, so switch to pulleys to reduce the resistance. In the case of pulleys, one rope can have up to two bends, and the length of one rope can be up to 25 m.
If you would like to increase the number of bends, you can use a pulley with a swivel manufactured by our company, which allows one rope to have up to four bends.
What is the lowest temperature it can handle? I would like to use it in extremely cold regions as a safety switch for belt conveyors, stacker reclaimers, etc.
We have a track record of temperatures down to -30℃. However, conditions vary depending on model and environment, so please consult with us.
Can it be moisture resistant? It is assumed that the safety switch will be used in a humid environment.
Standard microswitches are 85% moisture resistant. If it exceeds this, we will use microswitch that is 95% moisture resistant. However, specifications of microswitch may change due to model changes, so please check the details each time.

Pull Cord Switch

How many Pull Cord Switch are required for one belt conveyor?

One Pull Cord Switch (ELAW series) covers a distance of 50m. A 25m wire rope will be strung on each side.
For example, if length of belt conveyor is 200m, 4 units will be required in one aisle. Also, if you consider aisle on opposite side, you will need 8 more machines, which is twice as many.

Please install wire rope supports at 1m intervals.

PULLSTOP

How many PULLSTOP (ERTD-50) are required for one belt conveyor?
In case of PULLSTOP (ERTD-50), one unit covers 100m. A 50m wire rope is stretched on each side.
For example, if length of belt conveyor is 200m, two units will be required in one aisle. Also, if you consider aisle on opposite side, you will need twice as many, for a total of 4 units.
