Level Transmitter general

I don't know which model to choose.
Models vary based on state of object (bulk, granular, powder, slurry, liquid), physical properties (corrosivity, adhesion, dielectric constant, conductivity, etc.), and environmental conditions (temperature, pressure, humidity, etc.)

We have compiled information that will help you choose a model, so please refer to it as well.

Level Transmitter

I hear that adjustment app can be downloaded from each store, is it free?
You can download it for free. Please download it once.
It says that it can be adjusted via Bluetooth, but how far away can it be?
The maximum distance will be 30m in a clear line of sight environment. Please note that communication distance will be shortened if there are obstacles such as buildings.
Is it possible to install a microwave Level Transmitter in an open space under the Radio Law? What was the difference in Level Transmitter that made it OK?
Microwave Level Transmitters are also available that comply with the Radio Law (weak radio equipment). Products that comply with the Radio Law have low power and are not suitable for powder measurement. All 80GHz Level Transmitters are specified power-saving devices that comply with the Radio Law. It can be used outdoors regardless of whether it is powder or liquid.
It is said that it is possible to measure raw materials with low dielectric constants, but to what extent can they be measured?

Although the physical properties vary depending on state of deposition and density, a rough guideline is a dielectric constant of about 2. We are currently conducting field tests with various raw materials.

It is also possible to measure objects with low dielectric constants, which were difficult to measure with microwave Level Transmitters (26GHz series). Once we have collected the test data, we would like to announce it on our website.

Is air for air purge necessary?
This prevents adhesion to transmitting surface, so please use it if you use it in a dusty environment where there is a possibility of adhesion.
Is it possible to measure the liquid level in a narrow space within the radiation angle?
Although it depends on physical properties of object to be measured and condition of container storing the liquid, it is determined that measurement is possible if reflection on liquid surface can be recognized.

Microwave Level Transmitter

How many meters can be measured using a wavebreak tube?

Actual results in the field are 5m.

In our in-house offline test, we measured 20m.

There are foams above the liquid level of object to be measured. Is it possible to measure only liquid level without being affected by foams?

It depends on size and amount of foams.
It is difficult to say how much bubbles should be present as it varies depending on physical properties of object to be measured, but from experience we have learned that with foams the size of a soap foam (about 5 cm), the liquid level can be measured by passing through the surface.
As an example of small foams, it is easy to understand if you think of fine foams that occur when sea is rough.

For foams close to this condition, we have a track record of measuring the foam surface but not being able to measure the liquid level.
In such cases, there are cases where problem was solved by using >> guide pipes (breakwater tubes), so please refer to them.

If you have any concerns, we can also conduct an on-site test using a demo machine. Please feel free to contact us. We do not accept changes in electrode dimensions.

Is there a way to measure without being affected by steam or condensation?

We propose a Radar Type River Water Level Transmitter.
Even in situations where there is so much steam that the measurement surface cannot be seen, it can pass through the steam and measure it.
However, if a large amount of water condenses at the base of the microwave Level Transmitter's antenna, it will affect transmission and reception of microwaves.
If there is a large amount of condensation, please purge the inside of antenna with dry air or N2 to blow away the condensation.

If object to be measured is powder or slurry, dust may be mixed with steam and adhere to inside of antenna. In that case, please use optional PTFE coated antenna. This has effect of using condensation to wash away the antenna surface.
However, in this case, condition is that there is always condensation. If it dries during use, it will not be as effective, so please be careful when using it.

Do Level Transmitter and Radar Type River Water Level Transmitter comply with the Radio Law?
River Water Level Transmitter comply with the Radio Law. The radio water level gauge is a product manufactured in accordance with the Radio Law's "Regulations for Weak Radio Stations."
However, the transmission power is lower than that of a microwave level meter, so it is not suitable for use with powders or lumps that have weak reflection. For liquid use only.
Please tell me the power consumption of a Radar Type River Water Level Transmitter.
It is 800mW.

There is no power to Level Transmitter. Is it possible to use solar panels etc.?
It is possible. We can also prepare system configurations that include not only solar panels but also batteries and wireless equipment.
What is SN ratio?
The SN ratio is ratio of signal indicating strength of reflection to noise signal noise.
Microwaves (radio waves) are invisible. Therefore, we use PC software to visualize waveform and use it to understand situation and make adjustments.
At this time, on waveform there is a signal indicating strength of microwave (radio wave) reflection and noise generated during signal processing.
Value obtained by subtracting noise value from Signal value is called SN ratio, and this is an indicator of measurement stability. The standard for stable measurement is an SN ratio of 10 dB or more.

Radar Type River Water Level Transmitter communicate with HART communication module used by another manufacturer?

It is possible. However, HART communication module drivers are different, so you need to install corresponding driver.
Please tell me the pressure and amount required for air purge of a Radar Type River Water Level Transmitter.

Set purge pressure to 100kpa and purge amount to 14㎥/h.

Sounding V

When the Sounding V outputs a fault signal, is it possible to identify the fault location?
When the rope is broken, the "MES" indicator light will flicker.
The "POWER" indicator light flickers when the motor is overloaded.
Sounding V's standard measuring weight Φ95mm has apparent specific gravity of up to 0.4g/㎤, but what happens if the apparent specific gravity is less than that?
We are preparing a Φ280 umbrella-shaped measuring weight. Compatible with particle size of 1mm or less.
Examples: carbon black, lime powder, collected dust, etc.
What kind of objects can Sounding V measure?
Can be used in powder, granular, and bulk. The shape of measuring weight may change depending on object to be measured.
What is the lowest specific gravity that Sounding V can detect?
Specific gravity ≧0.1.
Our track record includes wood processing powder.

Sounding M's

Why is the cable between the Sounding M's and the controller designated as shielded?
Since AC power is supplied to the Sounding M's main unit from the board inside the controller, a shield is required as a noise countermeasure.
Sounding M's issued a fault alarm indicating a wire breakage, so we checked the scene, but found that the wire rope was not broken. What could be the cause?
The contacts of the auxiliary relay in the circuit that lowers the weight may be oxidized by sparks, resulting in poor continuity.
How often should I measure with Sounding M's?

We recommend a measurement interval of 30 minutes or more.
If measurements are taken frequently (measurement intervals are short), parts such as motors and wire ropes will deteriorate more quickly.
We recommend that you plan to regularly replace consumables.

Basically it's possible. However, we do not evaluate all equipment, so if you have any concerns, please use a preliminary evaluation such as by renting one out.

Signal Conditioner

Can Signal Conditioner be connected to other HART communication devices?

Basically it's possible. However, we do not evaluate all equipment, so if you have any concerns, please use a preliminary evaluation such as by renting one out.
